Improving Intrusion Detection Systems based on PCA and Hadoop Platform

Abstract

Intrusion detection system is developed for various types of attacks, and it was improved by using machine learning. However, it still suffers from more challenges when dealing with huge amount of data (i.e., Big Data) produced by networks traffics. Also, with the advances in cloud computing and its new technologies, big data analysis made possible.   In this paper, this problem of intrusion detection in big data is investigated in detail. Also, suggestions for intrusion detection system design based on Big Data analytic techniques such as MapReduce and Hadoop platform are discussed. This is work in progress and the implementation and results will be published in future articles.
